Privacy notice

Last updated 2026-07-26

This notice covers the composing work and the composition mentorship I offer through pablodelpinomusic.com. Private music lessons have their own privacy notice, which you receive when you enrol. This explains, in plain terms, what happens to the information you share with me. If anything is unclear, email me and I will explain it.

Who is responsible

Pablo del Pino, based in The Hague, the Netherlands (KVK 85672491). I am the controller of your data. You can reach me at info@pablodelpinomusic.com.

What I collect, and when

When you contact me about composing work — your name, email, and whatever you tell me about your project.

When you apply for the mentorship — your name, email, country or timezone, a link to your work, your answers about your level and goals, your preferred cadence, and anything you add in the free-text field.

When you email me — I keep that correspondence.

I only collect what you choose to send me through the forms and email above. This site does not use advertising cookies and does not sell your data.

Why I use it

Analytics

With your consent, I use PostHog (hosted in the European Union) to understand how visitors use the site — pages viewed, clicks, scroll depth, and anonymised session recordings — so I can improve it. Session recordings mask everything you type, so form fields are never captured. Analytics run only after you accept the consent banner; if you decline, nothing is tracked and the site works exactly the same. I do not use this data for advertising and I do not sell it.

The legal basis

For handling enquiries and applications and getting back to you: taking steps at your request before a contract, and my legitimate interest in running my business. For enrolled mentorship clients: performance of our contract and my legal obligations, such as Dutch tax law.

Who processes your data

I keep the parties involved to a minimum. Depending on which service you use, your data may be handled by:

These providers act only on my instructions and do not use your data for their own purposes. I do not sell your data or share it with anyone else for marketing.

Where your data is processed

Netlify and Google Workspace are based in the United States; where your data is handled there, it is protected by the safeguards they commit to, namely the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. PostHog analytics data is processed in the European Union. Email me if you would like details.

How long I keep it

If you enquire or apply but do not go ahead, I keep your message for up to 24 months, then delete it. For clients, I keep invoices and tax records for seven years as Dutch law requires, and signed agreements for the length of our relationship plus that period. You can ask me to delete your data sooner where I am not legally required to keep it.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask me to show you the data I hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict how I use it, or send it to you in a portable form, and you can object to my use of it. Email me and I will respond within one month.

If you are not happy with how I handle your data, you can complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).

Changes

If I change how I handle data, I will update this page and the date at the top.
